We are spoilt for choice with fun and interesting things to do on the Sunshine Coast! Many activities are a short drive away and vary between indoor and outdoor. We have put together a list of community activities you can do with your NDIS provider or employment partner that can be organised with no fuss and minimal spending!
BBQ LUNCH
Have some fun practicing your cooking skills with a beautiful background by preparing a BBQ lunch of your choice at the beach with your employment partner. Your employment partner will provide chopping boards, foil, cutlery and plates so you don’t need to organise anything besides thinking about what food you would like to eat! Your employment partner can go with you to the supermarket to buy your food before you find a BBQ hut.
Price: The BBQs are free to use. All you will need to buy is the food you want to cook such as sausages or burgers from the supermarket.
Location: There are many BBQ huts located all over the Sunshine Coast.
TEN PIN BOWLING
You and your employment partner can enjoy a friendly game of ten pin bowling! Bowling is a throwing sport in which a ball is thrown towards pins in an effort to knock them down and earn points. Bowling is fun and can be competitive. You will need to be wearing socks to play otherwise you can hire them for $3.

EVENT CINEMAS
Unwind with a movie and snacks with your employment partner by watching a movie of your choice at the cinema. Food and drink can be purchased online or at the venue and you can upgrade your ticket to Gold Class if you want to eat lunch whilst watching your movie.

AUSTRALIA ZOO
You can visit Australia Zoo with your NDIS partner and learn about a range of wildlife and native Australian animals. You can buy items from the café or gifts and souvenirs from the gift shop. You can also pay for additional excursions such as the Wildlife Hospital tour and a range of animal encounters including koalas, meerkats and tigers.

SEA LIFE SUNSHINE COAST
Spend a few hours watching and learning at the SEA Life Sunshine Coast Aquarium. You can learn about our big oceans and beautiful marine life, attend interesting talks and get involved in the animal feeding. You can buy a keepsake from the souvenir shop, have a snack and a drink at the café and also pay for additional excursions such as swimming with the seals.

SUNSHINE CASTLE
The Sunshine Castle is an award-winning museum, attraction and function venue. The castle offers a range of highlights on a self-walk tour. Wander over the drawbridge into another time and feast with kings in the Great Hall, or squalor in shame in the dungeon. The castle keep is a 24-meter look-out tower which offers stunning views from coast to hinterland. There is a café inside the castle where you can buy items and there is also a toy shop to purchase souvenirs.
